Hola Friends :)
Back from the beautiful Old San Juan and eager to create some colorful art back in the studio. It was an awesome experience to welcome 2024 in a different location in a different way.
Our adventures were primarily in Old San Juan as we love walking endlessly taking in all of its splendor and beauty.
We left on a cold rainy day and arrived to a hot sunny day. It was just so heavenly. The sun’s energy was enough to revitalize us and zap some extra color into our lives.
Where to stay
Choosing to stay in Old San Juan rather than resorts was an intentional choice that worked best for us. Although we love the beach life, we’d get bored easily so choosing an Airbnb or a boutique hotel is perfecto. We stayed at 352 Guest House and the service was fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough and I’m not into hotels so this is huge for me to admit! Breakfast was included every morning and we may or may not have fallen in love with their homemade mochachino. Literally every morning.
The interior decor was very Spanish inspired with doorway arches, decorative floor tiles and spiral staircases to the rooftop. Plants everywhere. I know, say no more. Why even go outside when you can feast your eyes with its glorious details?
I have to talk about safety here. The hotel was very secure. I haven’t seen this before but when a guest enters, you hover your hand over this device on the wall or door and it greets you with “Welcome Laerta” > door unlocks. It even pronounced my name correctly. I am impressed. I appreciated the matrix high tech.
On the rooftop is a hot tub that overlooks Castillo San Cristobal and you can see the ocean from afar. As my fingers are hitting each letter on this keyboard with total excitement (I did not break my laptop), I’m transformed to the very moment I ran to that rooftop for the first time as if someone was chasing me. Dramatic? Maybe. But it’s these moments that keep my soul alive.
The simple pleasures in life is what we live for.
And that is why travel and new experiences are so important in life. To shake us up from the mundane routine. Clear the cobwebs in your brain I say! 🧹
Doctor recommended, I mean Laerta recommended.
It’s fine, you can blame me for booking your next trip to Old San Juan.
More to come but until next Friday! Hope you find something adventurous to do this weekend!
